My name is Linda Buchanan and I am the Licensed Lay Worship leader at Westminster United Church in The Pas, Manitoba. I have been providing service to the congregation in The Pas for the past 15 years and although I plan worship nearly every Sunday, I feel the need for a boost as it is so easy when the lectionary runs in a rotation, to go back 6 or more years and tweak what I have done to bring the service up to current circumstances. I love what I do. I feel I am doing God's work but it gets lonely. Folks will say 'nice service' or 'I really liked your message', but that is not feedback. Today I had a challenging message about white privilege and what we as settlers have to do to work towards reconciliation. I could see some set faces before me but no one said anything beyond the usual at the end of the service. And there was no discussion when we gathered for lunch. I need to be pushed and that is why I feel God led me to this curriculum today.

I'm an ordained Deacon in the Anglican Church since 2012 and also an older woman in my very early 80's. I feel I would like to learn more of course so I am better able to be present to my congregation. We do not have a full time priest so I preside 2-3 times per month so am looking so forward to learning more in a more relaxed forum.
