This was a difficult question for me. What is my home church context?
We are housed in a 122 year old church with a raised chancel that host the choir and pulpit. The beautiful stained glass windows add to the ambience. Our church building is steeped in tradition and gives a formal context.
Today's audience is more casual and prefer adaptable spaces. Choir members may prefer to sit with family while not singing. One of the pews were removed to allow for wheelchairs last year and the church is accessible.
We are not a diverse congregation as most of us are Caucasian in our 50-80 year range, many women who attend without spouses myself included. Young families are welcomed but with no Sunday school being offered for over a decade it is somewhat difficult to attract. On our special Children's choir Sunday or Youth Band Sunday the church is alive with young people who mostly attend neighboring churches, We are a rural congregation with many of the parishioners living outside of the town church is located in.
I may attempt to answer these questions again further in study
