Order of worship

I am beginning a new community here, and that is the main reason I took this course. My theological training and experience were within the Catholic Church, so I know I will need to adjust to a somewhat different format. At the same time, there are similarities I can draw from.

Since this is a new congregation with an affirming focus, and we may be gathering in a church that is already established, I recognize my responsibility to the Worship Board to present a format for their review and approval. That will require some give and take.

I am also learning from a church in the nearby city, and with the influence of all these sources and with everyone’s help I trust I will find my footing. Together with the congregation, I hope to develop a form of worship that is meaningful, life giving, and rewarding for all.

I am not sure why this came to me. I want to wish you the best. I go to Mass when I am not a pulpit supply.

I serve two United churches in West Saint John, NB. They are so different from each other, One is more

Presbyterian. They have each settled with retired ministers for a year. This is my last week that I know of.

Let me know if you want some help with resources for services.
