Dear Friends,

In line with the International Day of Family Remittances, the International Migrants Alliance Academic Solidarity Network (IMAASN) will be holding an online webinar that foregrounds grassroots and academic critiques of the migration for development framework. The webinar will include research presented by Prof. Denise Spitzer (University of Alberta) on the project “The Lives of Migrant Remittances”, as well as perspectives from grassroots migrant leaders, Eni Lestari (Chairperson, International Migrants Alliance), and Dolores Balladares (Chairperson, UNIFIL-MIGRANTE Hong Kong).

This is the first webinar in a series that will be hosted by IMAASN as a lead up to the 7th International Migrants Alliance General Assembly. In this workshop series we will be exploring academic methods for peoples’ research that is carried out with and for grassroots, migrant-led organizations.

Details:

20 June, 9-10:30 pm Hong Kong Time (be sure to check your time zone. It will be very early on the west coast)
