Mapping your equipment

a person drawing a diagram on a piece of paperThis first activity will focus on the equipment needed during your hybrid service. Using an online software or a pen and paper, make a map of your setup and indicate how everything is connected. This will help to identify any missing pieces, help when troubleshooting, and ensure your setup is correct every time. Below are three examples of what equipment mapping can look like for the three case studies we just watched. They were created using a free account on Lucidchart - an online flowchart maker.

Where to start

  • Begin by identifying components that you need for your setup.
  • Arrange these logically and visually - start from the top and work your way down as it appears in your room.
  • Draw arrows between all the components, and include arrowheads to indicate the direction of the signal - this is usually one way, but occasionally 2 ways!
