    • This network is designed to take your hybrid ministry to the next level. By "Hybrid Church" we mean worship and community events that take place with a live congregation physically gathered in church AND a congregation participating online using technologies like video streaming and video conferencing. This network will go beyond the basics of setting up a hybrid worship service and teach you how to troubleshoot and design a resilient setup and develop your ministry to these members.

    Why Hybrid Worship?

      Exploring the why?

      Few historic events in living memory have caused as much disruption or innovation as the crisis brought about by the COVID-19 Virus. As churches around the world adapted to restrictions on in-person gathering, many congregations and individuals discovered the possibilities of virtual gatherings. In this first topic area we'll explore the why questions in historic and theological frames of reference to show that hybrid worship is both a necessary and desirable form of ministry.

      Know your terms

      Like any language of prayer, hybrid worship has a particular vocabulary and grammar that we need to learn to express ourselves well. In this topic section we will begin to unpack the basic technical and programmatic pieces necessary to do hybrid worship. By the end of this module you'll know the difference between "synchronous" and "asynchronous" content and be able to name the critical pieces necessary to create each.

      This "Wiki" style Glossary is list of terms and concepts related to digital church, livestreaming, and related topics and technology. Because it's a Wiki, you can even edit it to add your own discoveries!

    Methods of Providing Hybrid Worship

    • Three Case-Studies in LiveStreaming

      The following three videos demonstrate three different set-up for livestreaming worship. These examples may be helpful for you to gain an understanding of what different livestream setups can look like based on the context and setting of your church. Some things to think about when designing your set-up are the volunteers and resources you have available, your budget, and what goals you want to achieve with your livestream. These factors will be explored in the three videos, along with the challenges and successes in their hybrid worship set-up.
