Course Overview
This 2-hour refresher is for those who have completed the United Church Introductory course, either online or in person. Today, “social media” includes far more than Facebook—it spans websites, emails, newsletters, bulletins, outdoor signs, and more. These tools shape how we communicate and connect. What You’ll Learn
We’ll revisit personal and professional boundaries for church leaders and explore how they impact ministry. Through case studies focused on social media, you’ll learn:- How online communication can strengthen or harm pastoral relationships.
- Practical strategies for using social media responsibly and effectively.
- Ways to support God’s mission and ministry through healthy digital engagement—even if you’re not a frequent social media user.
By the end, you’ll leave with actionable approaches to maintain boundaries and build trust while navigating the digital spaces your congregants use every day.
