Broken up into seven weeks' worth of lessons in
four different themes, this resource will be your go-to guide for when hard
things happen in the world and in our communities. Based on the overarching
theme of “Listening to God,” these lessons help children to think about where
God is in hard times. Themes included are;
Listening
to the World:
o
How
do we explain war to children? What does our theology say?
o
Why
do we protest? How do we understand what is happening?
Listening
to Ourselves:
o
How
do we talk to children about grief?
Listening
to One Another:
o
What
can our faith tell us about anti-racism, oppression, anti-ableism, and
inclusion?
Listening
to Creation:
o What can we learn from various
Creation stories?
o
What
can we learn from how trees talk to each other?
o How
can we participate in ACTive listening?
Our mission in these lessons is to encourage children and youth to
recognize how God is working in the world, as well as within themselves, during
challenging moments. This collection of lessons aims to help leaders feel more
comfortable engaging in tough conversations with young people.
