This Advent
curriculum focuses on the four central themes of the season: Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love.
Rather than following the traditional lectionary readings, this resource
invites learners to explore how Jesus
models each of these attributes - and how we, as his
followers, are called to embody and share them in our everyday lives.
Each week offers a meaningful
opportunity to reflect on one of these core values, drawing connections between
the life of Jesus and the ways we can bring more hope, peace, joy, and love
into the world. Through storytelling, discussion, and creative activities,
children and youth will discover how Advent is not only a time of waiting, but
also a time of becoming - becoming people who reflect the heart of Christ.
Churches are encouraged to
incorporate their own
Advent traditions alongside this curriculum - whether that
includes lighting the Advent wreath, hosting a pageant, using an Advent
calendar, or participating in outreach projects. This resource is designed to
be flexible and adaptable, helping your community deepen its celebration of the
season while staying rooted in the transformative message of Christ's coming.
We
encourage you to put together a lesson that works best with your group's needs
(ages, energy levels, one room/multi room, etc.) Reach out if you have any
questions or need any guidance.
